veterans. Its celebration falls on the 11th day of November. It was also known as
Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other countries. It was the anniversary of the
signing of the Armistice, the effective end of a war which ended the First World
War.

The celebration of the Armistice Day was recognized by a proclamation of President
Woodrow Wilson of United States in 1919.
